This is the second post in The Link Building Cookbook series, finding you the best places to add links to your websites to increase website traffic.
If you are trying to build links to your site to increase your pagerank, and rank higher in Google and the other search engines, then you know that every link helps. I have some big link building posts coming later this week, but I figured that I should start with the basics.
If you have not checked out AboutUs.org, I recommend that you go to Aboutus.org/*yoursite*.com, and add your website as it is a free link and takes 20 seconds to setup. You can do this for every website you own.
*It has been reported that this site has been taken down, but incase it ever comes back up I have left the post as it use to be* — Another super easy free link is on the wiki directory (Wikectory.com). Just go to http://www.wikectory.com/wiki/*yoursite*.com and add a link. I recommend that you add it to a category as well so that it brings some more traffic and gets your page indexed faster. Example code:

Sorry to comment again, but I just went to wikectory and the links on the pages are “no follow.” So, not the best for link building, but good for some exposure.

Create a page on the wiki that links back to your site.
AboutUs works fine. Try once again and don’t add http://www or www before your domain name.

Wikectory.com now leads to a parked domain site. Otherwise this is some useful information.
I’ve used aboutus.org and it does prove to be effective.
