This is the seventh post in The Link Building Cookbook series of finding the best places to add links to your websites or blogs to help increase website traffic.
With all of the publicity that the “link vulnerable” software CBox had from my earlier post, I have found a new software that you can easily add your links to. It is called “Tagbox” (go figure). Although it seems like it is a lot less popular (700 results compared to 400,000+). Although I would use “only 700″ lightly as that is more than most link builders gain in a long time. More importantly, you could say this is quality over quantity because if you look carefully, you can get a PR6 site-wide link. On many webmaster forums, a PR6 link goes for about $400-600/year. This is a PR6 link that is also on hundreds of PR3-5 pages as well. Like it says in The Link Building Cookbook’s disclaimer, a link worth $1000+/year most likely will be taken advantage of by many readers, so if you are reading this in the archives, don’t expect it to still be active. The link is FinalFantasyNetwork.com for the PR6 site-wide tagbox site.
To find the other 700+ links, you can use a google query of “Powered by Tagbox”.

You’ve provided some good link building tips — thanks for sharing.
Little known social bookmarking sites like http://likesthispage.com are good link builders too. I like this tagbox idea it is very similar to plugboards.
I just looked into plug boards, and they are basically the same thing, but the websites that run Plug boards are incredibly spammy and made for link building, so they do not benefit your website as much.
yes they are spammy……but the social bookmarking sites are not.
I have a question about those shout boxes. As new shouts are added, the old ones get removed, correct? This means that using them is quite useless unless you post at exact same time as Google bot spiders the page… What am I missing here?
@Nikolai:
The low PR (smaller) ones only get 1-2 comments per year, meaning this are good ‘permanent’ backlinks. The ones that are PR6 and get a lot of comments get spidered by search engines often. So both are benefitial, and of course are entirely free.
Any one else stumble other pages that have your link on them ?:)
Thanks Collin
I guess it is better to try and get a link then to sit and wait for miracles. You are correct, we need to jump on any opportunity that comes our way. Two thumbs up.
Nice info!
Another great tip, thanks for the post

“Due to unscrupulous webmasters abusing the shoutbox, it’s been disabled. Thanks to these idiots for abusing any possible link available on internet.”
Guilty as charged.
This means that using them is quite useless unless you post at exact same time as Google bot spiders the page

tnx a lot!
This is great info. I hope this wasn’t abused that fast.
Thanks Bro!
This is in an iframe - you don’t get seo benefits or any PR from this - just marginal traffic. Maybe if you set up a script to autopost and was promoting something like ringtones.
Thanks for the tips. I’m glad I came across this site!
Thanks.
Thanks for this info - I shall look forwardto trying this
maybe all free service that allow visitor to put comments and url should use and trick like this… nice methods!
I tried this but the backlinks didnt last long. Quick bump in the serps maybe. Thanks
Don’t bother with the backlinks. They will not count as they are in javascript just like google adsense ads.
Do view source code, and you will find that the links and text that appears in the chat box cannot be found in the source code. They are useless for SEO purposes.
I guess that’s true. Javascript doesn’t help. A php include would be better. But how do you explain all the blogs showing up in the SERPS?
