This is the 14th part of The Link Building Cookbook series showing you the best places to build links to increase website traffic.
Update: Upon further inspection, the script loads itself from an IFrame, so the links will not pass as much PR, but you can still use this technique to increase website traffic. I had originally checked the google cache to see if the links were saved, but I later found out that Google grabs the most recent code if the cached page requests an iframe.
If the 400,000 free CBox links, the free PR6 sitewide links, or yesterdays free shoutmix links did not fully satisfy your link building desires, this post is to inform you that I have discovered the king of all free link injection techniques.
Mixed Market Arts would like to personally welcome Oggix, the solution to every webmasters search engine optimization needs. Oggix is a free shoutbox/tagbox/message board that allows you to post comments on the websites that run the widget. Every widget then promotes the main site by adding a text link that says “By. Oggix.com” - With a simple google query of intext:”by. oggix.com”, you can see that as of today there are 1,117,000 free links, with about 90% of them allowing you to post a comment with an anchor text link to your website in about 5 seconds. The best part is a lot of these are on the sidebars of free blogs, so your link will show up on EVERY single page dating back from years ago.
Now, like I see hundreds of other people doing daily, I could have thrown this technique into a 5 page Ebook (PDF), and sold it to 100 people on digitalpoint.com for a quick pile of cash. I choose instead to give it away for free so that everyone may benefit. My own request is that you submit this post to your social network of choice, or tell a friend about it. I recommend that you pick a random page number to start building links, and then if you pick 20 pages, you will have benefited greatly for your SEO work, and then this technique can help more than 5000 other bloggers. There is way more than enough links to share, so help a friend by distributing this technique, and you can be sure that there will be many more techniques to come!

One question- for how long submitted messages will be on submitted site? I’m afraid it will appear just for a few minutes, and there is no guarantee that they will be indexed.
Also i’ve submitted few messages, and i couldn’t find my messages in webpage html code.

This is a great idea but I am having some doubts since the shoutbox is an iframe. Google doesn’t backlink iframes does it? Hmmm.. but it might work since Google does crawl the site itself. What do u think?

Nice tips and I always like to read your blog. However there are some drawbacks in this exploit:
- Google can’t see the links
- Too many shout = your shout doesn’t get really looked
- people like to shout -> not read
Did you really get any serious traffic from using this technique?
Why Google can’t see the links? Is it iframe or JS script? Thanks
It is an iframe hosted at the script’s homepage. Google takes a cache of their page, but provides only a portion of the Google juice that you would have received normally.

This does wonders with traffic. I guess it depends on what type of site you have, but it sure does bring a lot of traffic to my sites.

It’s actually funny, you can see comments from May 2007 or even older ones and none of those people have a website submitted, then all the comments from 6th December on have a website with their name ;).
By the way, are you sure these links count as backlinks because I can’t see them anywhere in the source code ?
