Link Building with Gather

Posted in Link Building

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or get your blog updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

This is part 27 of my series called the link building cookbook that aims to be the ultimate link building resource on the web.

Gather is a place where you can share the things that are important to you with tons of different people. Boring right?

If I were to write my OWN description of what Gather is, here is how I would describe it:

Gather is an extremely popular site with over 700,000 pages indexed in Google. It has an incredible amount of pagerank, authority, and trust. Google crawls the site daily because it is filled with so much content. Gather allows internet marketers and link builders like ourselves to write up quick articles and plug a few backlinks in them.

Gather is much like Squidoo, except it seems that the internet marketing world has not yet caught on. Unlike Squidoo, Gather has NOT received a penalty and deals with a lot less spam than Squidoo does. At the end of the day, you can publish tons of articles on Gather and receive hundreds of QUALITY backlinks to your websites to increase your search engine traffic over a long period of time.

For those of you who like seeing a finished example, here is a quick article that I submitted about why is online dating getting popular.

What are you still reading for? Go crank out some backlinks!

Update: This post inspired Link Building Bible to write a post featuring another way to
build links with gather

Great article! I’ve been making a list of sites like squidoo lately to expand into the 2.0 link building more. This made it onto my list!

Shhhhhhh! Don’t tell people about this! This is fantastic! I also found a very fantastic way to get even more backlinks on there, without having to write articles… I don’t know how long it will last, but I will be using it to my advantage for sure!!!

Why isn’t this in the cookbook?

I’ve been using Squidoo for a long time now, and it seems that the newer pages I create get no traffic at all, thanks in large part to the Google penalty. How long until Gather falls into the same category? I’ve been contemplating switching over to Gather for some time now, but I think this is the week I’ll finally do it!

Gather is awesome, I agree. This is the second time I’ve heard an online marketing person mention it, though, so I guess we should start the countdown until it gets flooded with crap.

I just sign up for Gather. Let see My Experience with them.
I have a question regarding article Writing.
Is there any rules and Regulations for the acceptance of article in Gather like Ezinearticles or AnyOne can post any article.

Thanks
Dr Raza

Wow… that worked great. Fast to set up account at Gather and found a topic, left a comment with a link and anchor text. Now, it’d be fun to track and see how long it takes to get picked up by Y*ahoo
