If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or get your blog updates by email. Thanks for visiting!
Update: Thanks to everyone that voted, although being behind 48 hours stopped me from getting into the final 8, however I was in the 93rd percentile, only a few votes away from ranking. There is always next month.
Although I am 19 days behind submitting one of my biggest startup ideas to IdeaBlob ($10,000 grant for the most popular business startup idea), I figured it was better late than never. I am going to need a lot of votes in a very little amount of time if I want to get into the $10,000 finalist round like I did last Thanksgiving with my rssHugger idea.
One of my biggest upcoming startups is going to be a revolutionary RSS reader. Since the biggest details about it are not ready to go public, I can only share a few facts. The name we are deciding on will most likely be Torfeedo (A web2.0 name combination of “torpedo” with “feed” in it).
The RSS format revolutionized content because it allowed everyday internet users to consume a lot more information in less time. What my upcoming startup company will be doing is the same type of revolution, but instead it will be revolutionizing the RSS feeds rather than the content.
My startup will allow everyday RSS users to be able to consume more RSS feeds in less amount of time. If you remember how much time switching from bookmarks to RSS saved you, then you will be ecstatic about my upcoming venture when it launches.
I will be able to reveal more details as the site goes into beta (of which all of my blog readers will get an invitation). However, moving on to the reason of this post.
I submitted my idea to IdeaBlob, and you can find it here: Social RSS Reader - IdeaBlob. There is less than 48 hours left on this months voting for which 8 ideas get into the finals, so I am going to need a miracle to catch up, however if you would do me a huge favor of taking 3 minutes out of your day to register to IdeaBlob and VOTE for my idea, I would be truly greatful.
Again, if you can spare JUST THREE MINUTES of your time:
- Visit IdeaBlob.com
- Register for a free account.
- Visit my idea page
- Hit the green VOTE button.
- (Optional): Leave a comment to get my idea noticed on the recent feed.
If I can make up for the 19 days that I missed out on promoting my idea and make it to the finals, I will be all out promoting Ideablob and hopefully taking home the $10,000 grant. This money would allow my partner (or co-annihilator to be grammatically correct!) the power to launch a massive advertising campaign before seeking venture capital or angel investments. If you know me well, you will also realize that a huge blog contest with a lot of money and prizes will fit nicely into my advertising campaign, so it may be in your interest as well!
Thanks a million for all of those who took the few minutes out of their day to vote for my idea and hopefully give the super-duper underdog a chance at catching back up to the finals round. Getting into the finals round this late in the month will be more than a challenge, but as Wayne Gretzky said, “You miss 100% of the shots you never take.” So I figured I would give it my best and see how truly supportive my readers are. ![]()
