Online Income Report - May 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or get your blog updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

Every month I make a public blog post about my online earnings for the month. These income posts are never meant to be for bragging purposes, but rather so that I can be completely transparent about what I earn online, so that years down the road I can show everyone my journey to wealth and how much hard work and dedication it involves, contrary to what many ebook sellers tell you.  By being completely transparent about what I earn online also allows me to show you my biggest mistakes, and what I have learned from the most. The more mistakes I have, the more I learn from, and the more I show you how to avoid. My monthly online income reports are a summary of where I made my money, and where I lost my money.

I also just acquired a large new site that I will be making a blog post about when everything is setup and transfered over. Stay tuned!

I want to thank all of the advertisers on my blog. Your support is what helps me continue writing on my blog and giving away a lot of tips that the self-proclaimed professionals wouldn’t tell you.

Conclusion

This month has had its ups and downs. While I did not do quite as well as last month, I still made an excellent chunk of money. My biggest failure this month was spreading myself out too thin. I tried doing too many different things (writing, link building, consulting, developing new sites, buying sites, learning affiliate marketing, optimizing affiliate campaigns, and school homework). I spent a lot of time experimenting with Market Leverage, and have found one very profitable campaign that earned me about $50 this month with only spending about $15. I will work on optimizing that more if I have time this month, but for right now I need to get caught up on a lot of things.

My time management is something that I need to work on if I want to continue optimizing my monthly profits. However, I graduate from high school next week, so hopefully this month I can have enough time to get all my projects in order and caught up, so that I can increase my earnings this month.

All in all, making $79.38 per day is incredibly far above the average for an 18 year old still in high school, but that statistic doesn’t stop me from wanting to eventually push it into $100 per day on autopilot. Once I get all my new startups in order and spend less time trying to save a few pennies here and there on my affiliate campaigns, I believe the $100/day mark will come pretty quickly.

Congrats on the money as always! Less visitors but subscribers are up… and that’s always a good thing!

That $2460.90 is pretty impressive. Congratulations!

I do notice that your main source of income is from consultation fee. Which turn out to be a service. The rest, minority of the income is from displaying ads.

Therefore it strengthen my mind to use my knowledge to sell services rather than displaying ads and wait for miracles.

There is no easy money. All is from our hard work :)

Congratulations on another good month. Do you plan on attending any of the big web marketing/affiliate conferences this summer? Maybe a little networking will help push you over your goal.

Haven’t really made any plans yet… but since I will have a lot more time on my hands, it is quite possibly an option. I might head out to BlogWorld this year, as that would be an excellent place to network with other bloggers.

Are you going to any yourself?

I had to read the statistics 2 times because i could not find how you add up to 2400. Then i found the consulting money that makes the biggest part of your income. I dont know if you should add it to this statistic.
Of course you give individual values so all the infomation is here.

If you did not “spread yourself out too thin” do you think you might have got bored and fed up doing the same thing? Whenever I try to concentrate on a particular task I often get bored and have to switch to something else.

Nah, I just need to micro-manage my time more efficiently rather than giving stuff up.

You are not 18 as of yet, wow that’s impressive, imagine what your blog will be doing for you in a few years. Awesome, well done. Wishing you more and better and a Stumble to add to your collection.

That is indeed impressive. I know what you mean by spreading yourself too thin. I frequently find myself doing that. Good luck for the next month

Sorry for the really basic question, but how do you get 125*125 advertisers? Is it some sort of ad network or do people start approaching you when you have a popular blog?

Advertise that you are selling them.

Thanks - not really sure where to start, but I guess I should at least put up a notice on my website.

Interesting that your visitors and pageviews went up, but Alexa dropped. Would love to understand their algorithm a bit better, must say!

It is good to see that in less than a year your blog has more than 500 readers and has made such good progress.

This is one of my favourite blogs as it gives a lot of valuable information and everytime there is something new to read.

Keep up the good work!
