Google has just announced their assistance in the Internet For Everyone campaign. The Internet For Everyone initiative is to make ubiquitous and open broadband access for every American a priority in the next administration.

While it is a major topic, Google’s new involvement in it will surely put it on the radar for everyone. It is a win-win situation for everyone involved, because hopefully Google and the Internet For Everyone campaign can succeed in getting the nation even more connected. It is a smart acquisition for Google too, because the more people who are connected and using the internet, the more people will be using Google and their services, which means more money will be flowing to Google. In that same theory, if this act goes through and we see 50% more people online (or more), we can expect to be able to have all of our websites traffic increase by that amount! I know a lot of people who would love to see a 50% increase in their traffic and earnings, and I am sure you would like that too.

SearchEngineWatch has also published an interesting post about all the smart moves Google has been doing in regards to creating an open internet.

I read your article three times - just to make sure I understood what you posted - and I’m a bit wary. Will visit InternetForEveryone’s site and check it out. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

I hope this means that access to true broadband will be more accessible to rural areas. Millions of us have only satellite Internet as our broadband choice, forcing us to pay two or three times as much for a lesser and severely limited connection.

Its makes sense for Google to implement this, as the more users the more searchers the more PPC.

I’d be so happy if my blog got 50% more traffic lol. I don’t know what it is - maybe I’m just bad at being a blogger.
