Directory Submission Service

Posted in Link Building

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or get your blog updates by email. Thanks for visiting!

The following is a paid review and is my complete and honest opinion. If you would like your own paid review on my blog please visit the advertise page.

We all know link building is a very painful task that all webmasters have to go through if they are trying to get their websites to the top of the search engines. It is so boring in fact to do that most people give up on it after a few short months as it takes forever to see results and when your website does not increase fast enough in the rankings, well you know the rest as I am sure we have all thought the same things from time to time.

Google Knowl

Posted in Internet Marketing

Now before I confuse anyone, I purposely have a typo in the title of this post. The reason is because my 6 month old post announcing Google Knol has received over a hundred visitors from people searching for the term Google Knowl. That post is on the bottom of page two, so I figured I would capitalize on that commonly searched typo variation of Google’s new site. Google Knowl is just a typo for the real name, called Google Knol. I just wanted to add a warm welcome to all of my new readers who have found my blog by searching for Google Knowl. Thanks for not being able to spell properly! :-)

With all that being said… onto the post!

Jason Hendersons Massive Blog Contest

Posted in Off-Topic> blog contest

Jason Henderson, one of the other contestants on the Top Affiliate Challenge is running a large blog contest on his site. I don’t enter a lot of blog contests because the prizes usually aren’t worth the time it takes to write a post. However, Jason has gotten a ton of private consultants sponsoring their time as prizes for the contest (as well as a ton of other crappy prizes that all contests have!).

If you check out Jason’s blog contest, you can see that there isn’t too much fluff that you normally see in cheap blog contests. This post is my entry/attempt at winning something useful for once! :)

12 Seconds - Dumbest Site Ever

Posted in General

A new site just launched in their Alpha stage called 12 Seconds. The site is basically the Twitter of video. The idea is that you record a short video of what you are doing that is a maximum length of 12 seconds. Now in my opinion, Twitter works because you can type a quick update in about 5 seconds due to all the great web plugins for it. My question is… why in the world would someone port that into video format? The end result is the majority of the current videos being uploaded featuring a low quality cut of someone talking insanely fast and not punctuating their sentences.

Pagerank Update July 2008

Posted in SEO

The words have been spoken straight from Mr. Google himself (Matt Cutts).

Hey folks, I wanted to let you know that new toolbar PageRank values should become visible over the next few days. I’m expecting that also in the next few days that we’ll be expiring some older penalties on websites.

For those of you who actively participate in the webmaster forums… prepare for the usual chaos of 50% of the people extremely pissed off and complaining, as well as the other half who are gloating in their newfound numbers.

MarketLeverage Guest Review 1

The following is Andy Crofford’s guest opinion of MarketLeverage, an up and coming affiliate company. Andy wrote his review of MarketLeverage as an entry to my MarketLeverage Contest. There are three ways to enter the contest, and writing a review was one of them. If you are interested in joining, there are two $179 Flip Mino video cameras, $100 in giftcards, and 10 2GB USB pens up for grabs. (Read more about the contest here) With that put aside, here is Andry Crofford’s opinions of MarketLeverage.

MarketLeverage was the first affiliate program I ever signed up with. This review will look at the application process, affiliate manager, control panel, and offers.

MarketLeverage Contest Update

I have received a few emails and there has been a lot of confusion about some of the rules that I posted in the original MarketLeverage Contest post. I also had a few complaints from people that wanted to win but were already MarketLeverage members.

To solve everyones problems, I am now redoing the MarketLeverage blog contest so that EVERYONE has a chance at winning some free goodies!

The Prizes

ONE Flip Mino ($179 value)
One lucky winner will receive a brand-spanking new Flip Mino so that you can record your exciting life and put it on Youtube. Many people argue that video blogging is the next big thing, so you could always get a head start on that.

MarketLeverage Contest

THIS POST IS NOW OUTDATED. Please read the updated MarketLeverage Contest Post.

As many of you already know, I was in Nebraska for the last three weeks competing on the Top Affiliate Challenge affiliate marketing reality web-tv show. While there, not only did I learn a plethora of good tips on making money through affiliate marketing, but I made friends with a lot of affiliate managers/networks.

My favorite affiliate network, MarketLeverage, not only helped me out tremendously while I was there competing, but are offering me some prizes to give away through a contest on my blog.

MarketLeverage sponsored me with (ten) 2GB USB Pens as well as (two) Flip Mino video cameras.
