IZEA, the company that runs PayPerPost and pays bloggers to write about products, has just launched their new “blogging statistics” site called RealRank. IZEA said that there was no accurate way to measure a blogs popularity, but that is a blatant marketing lie. Google has “sent the hounds” on IZEA and their products because Google does not want people artificially gaming their system, so Google has resorted to banning and penalizing offending blogs. Google has been lowering/removing pagerank from blogs that have been caught selling paid links and paid blog posts that pass Pagerank.
From a business standpoint, what would you do if you were IZEA? Google has just messed up the way you sell your product, and thus will hurt your advertisers marketplace. In retaliation, you have to reinvent the wheel with your brand name on it to avoid Google’s power.

For all of Mixed Market Art’s readers who are search engine optimizers or link builders… this post will surely help build your pagerank quickly and easily. I recently discovered a Linux site called the Linux Counter where they are tracking how many people are using Linux, where they are from, and a few other statistics. I was toying around with the site and signed myself up to be tracked. As a test, I signed up stating that I was located in Antarctica where only three other people had listed themselves to be shown publicly. There was no email verification to join and they even provided a search engine followed link to the URL I specified. If you want to build hundreds of links you can submit yourself once to every country (205 countries at the moment). All of the aged pages are PR2-4, so if you spend a decent amount of time submitting your sites to the entire list, you can expect a great PR update for minimal work when Google starts doing their updates. This is a very quick, easy, and most importantly free method towards mass link promotion. I recommend that if you are going to be using this technique, try doing a few per day on a set schedule so that Google does not penalize your site for building tons of links one day, and then very few the next few days.

One thing that really annoys me is KSD (keyword spamming disorder). I very rarely make HATE POSTS, so I wanted to start off saying that I absolutely love BloggingZoom, but one of the founders (Vic) is a former blackhat search engine optimizer (nothing is wrong with that) and has a new blog over at BloggerUnleashed.com.
On his blog, he uses a lot of his former blackhat tactics to increase website traffic. The one that I have a problem with is that he blatantly spams keywords in all of his blog posts to raise his keyword authority on Google. With over 450 RSS subscribers, many of his readers that also blog are starting to follow his examples and are making spammy posts just to rank for keywords in Google. The last time I checked, the whole idea is to write for your readers, and not to annoy the living hell out of them, but if I am mistaken and you prefer to have a really annoying time reading my posts, that can be arranged.

A little over a month ago I donated a business idea to the Business Idea of the Day and they donated a $400 laptop in my name. The idea that I donated was that someone should make a free online reference (Wikipedia competitor) that ran on a few small advertisements rather than donations. Unlike Wikipedia, the site idea would be for-profit, and would share 60% of the revenue with 6 of the writers per page. This would net 40% revenue from the ads on every single page of the website. Writers would be inclined to write and research the pages because they would get a profit from it.

TNX is a text link advertising agency that has recently launched on the DigitalPoint webmaster forums over at the
free text link ads thread. I am a big time enemy of Text Link Ads which is the king of the hill in the link buying market at the moment. Any alternative to them is partly a good thing in my mind. TNX adds a few unique features that set them apart from anyone else.TNX utilizes a point system instead of dollars. For every link you purchase, or for every link you sell on your website, you are awarded with points. These points can be redeemed for cash, or for purchasing link promotion of your own. The credits are confusing at first, but after you get the hang of it they are not so bad. Here is a snippet from their site:

This is the 15th part of The Link Building Cookbook series showing you the best places to build links to increase website traffic.
BloggingZoom is a new digg-like website that is dedicated only to bloggers to help them increase website traffic. The website is fairly new (November 1st), but has had a massive product launch. I have been trying out the website for the past few days and I have had some good results. I have only submitted a total of 5 posts, but 4 of them have been “Zoomed” (Made it to the frontpage). The one post that did not make it to the frontpage was just a test to see if bad content made it to the frontpage, which it did not!I am glad to know that 100% of my ‘well written’ posts made it to the frontpage for maximum exposure.BloggingZoom was developed by an internet marketer named Courtney Tuttle. You can see he made a blog post featuring
everyone that has made a review of his site, which I can assume I might be added onto later. I have no problems with Courtney Tuttle, but the other owner named
Vic Franqui at BloggerUnleashed.com is a total fucking moron, so I will just skip that and move on to the site itself.

This is the 14th part of The Link Building Cookbook series showing you the best places to build links to increase website traffic.
Update: Upon further inspection, the script loads itself from an IFrame, so the links will not pass as much PR, but you can still use this technique to increase website traffic. I had originally checked the google cache to see if the links were saved, but I later found out that Google grabs the most recent code if the cached page requests an iframe.
If the 400,000 free CBox links, the free PR6 sitewide links, or yesterdays free shoutmix links did not fully satisfy your link building desires, this post is to inform you that I have discovered the king of all free link injection techniques.
